Stamford’s Union Lodge No. 5 Installs 2009 OfficersJanuary 7th, 2009
Stamford’s Masonic Lodge, Union Lodge #5 A.F. & A.M., held a formal installation ceremony for their 2009 line of officers at Ivanhoe Lodge #107 in Darien on Wednesday evening, January 7, 2009. Over fifty attendees were treated to a celebratory banquet followed by an installation ceremony marked by ancient Masonic ritual, beautiful pageantry, and several visiting dignitaries. The ceremony started with a warm message of welcome for family, friends and others in attendance, followed by the Presentation of Colors by Sir Knight James J. Fahy, Past Master; Sir Knight R. Scott Sargeant, Past Master; Sir Knight Charles O'Neil, Past Master; and Sir Knight William R. Deickler, Past District Deputy, of the York Right Commandery. Right Worshipful Brother William Deickler, Past District Deputy, and Right Worshipful Brother Steven Bowen served as Installing Master and Marshall, respectively. The 2009 line of officers, Stephen Petri-Senior Warden, Jon Ringel-Junior Warden, Domenic Corbo PM-Treasurer, Robert Stack PM-Secretary, Kaleb Winsiko-Senior Deacon, Alan Weinstein-Junior Deacon, Antonio Forte-Senior Steward, Felix Lugo-Junior Steward, Ed Carceres-Marshall, Adam Ellyson-Tiler, and Ron Sala PM-Chaplain, which includes three Past Masters of the Lodge, was sworn in following a reading of the Fifteen Articles (ancient organizing regulations) by Right Worshipful Brother Deickler. Worshipful Master Ken Robertson’s father, Past Master James D. Robertson, Past District Deputy, placed the Worshipful Master’s jewel on his son, emphasizing the strong familial bond between father and son, brother and brother. Right Worshipful Brother Steven Bowen read the Proclamation from the South and West, inaugurating the commencement of Worshipful Master Robertson’s 2009 reign.Newly installed Worshipful Master Robertson then took his place in the East to address all in attendance. Worshipful Master Robertson continued the meeting and officially recognized and welcomed the Past Masters and other distinguished guests. The most junior Past Master Domenic Corbo presented his outgoing officers from 2008 with a token of his esteem and much gratitude for an excellent year’s worth of labor and refreshment, which has seen the lodge grow with several new brothers and a renewed sense of enthusiasm and inspiration. After the close of the ceremonies, guests were dismissed to allow the Brothers a brief private moment before the official closing of the Lodge and the start of an exciting new year.
